Spacer bars separate the two panes of glass in a double-glazed IGU. For decades, they were made of aluminium – but as a metal, aluminium is a conductive material, meaning the resulting windows lost heat easily.
Super Spacer® offered a solution. First released in 1989, Super Spacer was made of flexible, heat-insulating foam that’s 950 times less conductive than aluminium.
That resulted in dramatically improved thermal efficiency – delivering smaller electricity bills and carbon footprints. But Super Spacer can also reduce external noise pollution by up to 2dB, condensation by up to 70%, and has been successfully tested in temperatures from -40 to 85°C.
