Made in Coventry since 2007

Edgetech invested £2.5m to create the Coventry site in 2007, and has manufactured Super Spacer® here ever since. In 2011 Edgetech became part of Quanex, the global building products group.

Ten years after opening, we extended the site with a further investment of more than a million pounds. The extension was officially opened in 2017 by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Coventry alongside senior Quanex leaders.

In 2018 we added a research laboratory at our Coventry headquarters. It was built to help us develop new products and to support customers with their own testing and accreditation.

What we do here

• Manufacturing: Super Spacer® warm edge spacer bars are made on site.
• Distribution: orders for IGU manufacturers across the UK and Ireland are supplied from our Coventry distribution centre.
• Research and testing: our on-site laboratory supports product development and customer accreditation.
• Training for architects: our RIBA-approved CPD presentation takes 45 minutes and can be delivered at your practice or at our Coventry facility.
• Customer support: our sales, technical and customer care teams are all based here.

Part of the Coventry community

We support the city we work in. Edgetech and Quanex have raised money for Coventry Foodbank, and our employees have donated hundreds of food and household items to people in need across the city. We have also donated school supplies to Walsgrave Academy, a Coventry primary school, and we run an apprenticeship scheme that brings young people into the business.

Supplying the West Midlands and the whole UK

From Coventry we supply IGU manufacturers throughout the West Midlands and across the UK. Around one in three insulating glass units made in the UK uses an Edgetech spacer.
