Gas filling is becoming more important as window companies look to achieve Window Energy Ratings. Compliance with EN1279 Part 3 is a requirement of the BFRC Window Energy Rating scheme where gas filling is used. We encourage all Edgetech IGU manufacturing customers to achieve full accreditation in order to demonstrate that their sealed units meet the highest performance standards. That is why we offer technical support over and above any other component supplier, to all of our customers going through the process. As Window Energy Ratings become even more important next year with the proposed revision to Building Regulations requiring all replacement windows to achieve a C rating or above, we want to ensure we are helping our customers to future proof their businesses in every possible way.”
Premier DGU has switched its Warm Edge spacer supply from Swiss Spacer V to Edgetech’s Super Spacer. Sales and Marketing Director of Premier DGU, Jayne Camm explains why: “We could see Window Energy Ratings (WERs) were going to continue to be the way forward for the industry and knew we would struggle to meet the increased demand with our existing spacer. Edgetech customer, E.A.S Windows in Oadby, has joined Edgetech’s Super Spacer Dealership to show its commitment to offering high standard energy efficient windows. “We’ve been offering B and C energy rated windows with Cleartherm sealed units with Super Spacer inside since 2008,” explains Adam Spradbury, Managing Director of E.A.S Windows. “Energy efficiency has always been a selling point for PVC-U double glazed windows, but the latest technology and energy rated windows have added further credence to this selling proposition.
